D’Orsay Awnings

I love these awning along the side of the Musee D'Orsay. A magic spring morning and a perfect say for photos!
I love these awnings along the side of the Musee D’Orsay. A magic spring morning and a perfect day for photos!

Another lovely day in spring and off to the Musee D’Orsay. Walking along with the Seine on our right and beneath these charming awnings I wondered why they do not make such things any more. They seemed to be all the rage in France once and they do really add to the frontages of buildings. Perhaps vandals have a nasty habit of smashing the glass panels, or maybe people realised that clear glass gives no shade? Whatever the reason I think they are well worth reviving.
