Waiting for the tide to turn I caught this yacht silently gliding past the fortress by Vaubon

Another perfect spring day saw us in St Malo, looking out to the forts by Vaubon, now inaccessible with the full tide. A little yacht glided silently behind and went to adventures beyond (we hoped). What to do next? Another turn around the city wall or perhaps out into the world beyond to investigate St Servan? The Doctor was inclined to stroll so grabbing our windcheaters from our rooms and bidding a fond farewell to the charming concierge of the Hotel l’Univers we began our quest. Fortunately we were not torn to pieces by a pack of ravening dogs as soon as we had left the gate as would have been the case several hundred years before when the sensible keepers of the city devised the idea to ensure that the population remained unmolested by outsiders.
