Parisian Shade

This clever effect painted on the wall gave the impression of cool shade in this photo I took on a spring day in Paris.

Once you have finished making a judicious purchase or two at Shakespeare and Company, or better still, be clutching to your breast a treasure wrested from a Bouquiniste on the Quai Saint-Michel then take a little detour to the Place Saint-André des Arts. Not only a good starting point to destinations like Le Procope if you fancy a coffee in the oldest coffee shop in Paris or the essential musée de Cluny where you must give yourself a day to appreciate the stunning treasures within, but a pleasant little surprise where an artist’s conceit has reproduced shadows of trees on the buildings.
