Montmartre and fabric

Most people don't know about the fabric shops in Montmartre. Why not grab a few dozen metres of watered silk after a pleasant lunch up on the hill.

My dear friend, The Doctor, discovered that if you want to buy fabric in Paris then the place to go is Marché Saint Pierre in Montmartre. He and his most excellent lady spent a pleasant afternoon in amongst the Toile de Jouy, paduasoy and taffeta in a species of time-warp where the store seemed to be firmly fixed in the 1950s. One of the windows afforded a lesser-seen aspect of Sacré Cœur and the photo taken had a peculiar addition of the light fittings from the shop which I thought added a certain je ne sais quoi.
