Weekly photo challenge: Orange you glad it’s photo challenge time?
On a jaunt to Fontainebleau we wandered down a corridor and found a museum filled with Napoleonic paraphernalia. One of the rooms contained the original camp tent and bed used by Napoleon on one of his campaigns and I snapped this photo which, came out quite well I thought given the light conditions.
It seems that the new trend to “glamping” was obviously thought of 200 years or so ago and although Napoleon had to “rough it”, Kitty, Miss H. and I did think that we could probably manage a day or two slumming it in this little lean-to.
Lovely photo for this week’s challenge. And lovely bit of history to go along with it as well. The tent certainly looks cosy, and I bet it served Napoleon well back in the day 🙂
