Why charge the lovers
Wanting red roses much more
On Valentine’s Day
The mysteries of supply and demand explained – Haikunomics
This was one of my earliest blog photos and was one of my first experiences in Paris. Although the wonderful flower markets of the past had vanished you could still see stalls like this here and there selling a beautiful array of flowers. This stall was part of the delightful and enticing Place Monge markets which open on Wednesdays and Fridays and has been doing so since 1921.

Nice photo and haiku, flowers price isn’t very romantic on Valentine’s.

Beautiful picture and I liked your haiku too. Haikunomics is right––roses are so much more expensive on Valentine’s Day. Ha, ha!
