It’s the 100-150 word Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers time with the photo prompt kindly supplied by Sonya O: https://flashfictionforaspiringwriters.wordpress.com/
Hope you enjoy the 146 word long…
A Family Outing
Little Wendy, Great Aunt Eunice, Grandmamma and Grandpapa Lowenbrau, the “Danger twins” and Mother all clung desperately to the long black vinyl ottoman that had thankfully floated when the wonderful picture window in the aquarium main tank shattered.
Picking up momentum, they careened down the corridors, the “Danger Twins” shrieking for joy as a stingray leapt over Great Aunt Eunice’s head.
“Tut tut tut!” said Aunt Eunice.
Grandmamma Lowenbrau’s masculine voice could be heard above the rushing noise of the water, dictating to Grandpapa how to steer the banquette. Grandpapa obeyed.
Little Wendy started to wail as a stray nurse shark brushed against her leg.
“I want a lolly!” she cried pettishly.
Soon after, they were ejected out of the main doors and lay saturated on the pavement amongst the flailing turtles and one disgruntled moonfish.
“Well this is just typical!” said Mother with a sigh.
😁 Brilliant! Love it! – shark for supper anyone? 🙂

Delightful. You have a such a knack for drollery … one feels perhaps this story is a metaphor for your life! I am very sure that the twins would have clamoured to do it again were we privileged to follow the story a little longer??!

Hilarious interpretation of the prompt. The cast of characters is great and their reactions to the shattered aquarium and the encounters that follow are a treat. 🙂
