This lifeguard tower at City Beach in Perth Western Australia is more often used to look for sharks than drowning swimmers.
As this gallery of pictures that I took yesterday clearly shows, The winter weather is truly appalling in Perth, Western Australia at the moment. Only one family was brave enough to take to the beach. We expected a slight breeze at any moment and there were definitely a few clouds on the horizon.
Life can be tough!
We feared that these roiling waves might wash the children into the water at any moment!
A seagull wheeled overhead, the gentle breeze threatening to blow it away at any moment.
This little family sat unawares of the perils before them
These grasses moved slightly in the zephyr. Horrifying!
Do not be fooled by the azure blue!
Up on the pathway we fled from the threatening ocean
The terrible weather this winter is easily seen from this photo I took yesterday. Several tiny clouds and a slight breeze gave us reason for great concern.
I could have been sunning myself at our local beach where I took this photo, but noooooooo!

Weekly photo challenge: Today Was a Good Day
I can so relate. You know, we’re half way through winter and only yesterday were the clouds able to cover the sky for the first time – and then only for a few hours!
It’s blood curdling, terrifyingly dangerous here in the southern hemisphere this time of year!
I hardly dare go outside!
Stunning photos btw! 🙂
How you must suffer… beautiful sandy coves and beaches, calm blue sky over a cerulean sea… I suppose you must be at grave risk of getting sand between your toes too?
It’s been a bad year for shark attacks here in the US and too often in very shallow water. Other than the thought of sharks, the beach photos are very appealing. 😉
I have been close to a huge tiger shark in open water just once in a small pontoon dinghy. That was enough. I think I preferred the old days where you could not see things on the net like great whites grabbing seals off beaches or leaping into the air. Glad you enjoyed the photos though! 🙂

Thanks so much! Glad you liked the photos. The light was very good that day. I am just restarting work after a break and wish I was at the beach too!

Most people from England think that our winter is summer. It is so mild usually.
