The prompts for Ronovan Writes this week are Flesh and Tide. I know someone who finds the word “flesh” utterly repulsive. This may indicate some strange undiagnosed psychosis but I do find the word rather unpleasant myself. Here are some interpretations of this intriguing pairing…
The world’s rank fleshpots
Reek like brackish tidal pools
Putrid and stinking
..O..
Moving like the tide
All flesh ebbing and flowing
Rubenesque Beauty
..O..
Oh woe betide me!
You have dealt my aching heart
More than a flesh wound
In response to Ronovan Writes weekly haiku prompt – flesh and tide
What is Rubensque?
The picture reminds me of famous monkeys of Gandhi which were gifted to him by some friend.
Have a lovely week.
LOve and light ❤

Rubenesque refers to ladies in paintings by Peter Paul Rubens. The ideal beauty at the time of the 16th century was more plump and sensuous.

Oh, I have heard about that. Unlike today, we consider anorexic skinny models ideal. Thanks TJ. I am learning every time I interact with you. Love ❤

Oooh TJ, That middle Haiku is pretty racy! Love it! I went all moody and literal this week, 🙂

Such power in brevity. Now the fleshpots of the world have lost their allure.

Never thought about flesh as disgusting, it’s very difficult I used this word anyway, but your haiku made me disgusted now, great haiku!

Three original haiku– I think I like the last one the best–possibly the least ‘fleshy’ 😉
