Nuts About You

This strange buds are about to burst forth into wonderful flowers.
These strange buds are about to burst forth into wonderful flowers.

Vous n’êtes pas encore arrivés mais vous êtes plus proche qu’hier.

You haven’t arrived yet, but you are closer than yesterday.

What, my dear, is your heart’s desire?
Is it something that words can express?
That time can address?

Does it move like the tide?
Approaching…receding.
Or is it drifting beyond the horizon?
A speck capturing the sunset.
Leaving the dull ache of departure.

Does it lie in the darkness of your heart?
A kernel longing for spring, warmth, sunlight…someone.

Seek it out,
That infant bud,
That unspoken longing,
That fundamental principle,
and make it your mission to find it.

What, my dear, is your heart’s desire?

About the photo and quote

This is a photo I took of a native Australian plant whose strange flower buds captured my eye. The quote is the last of 3 for “3 Quotes in 3 days” kindly proposed by Elusive Trope and the Secret Keeper. I could not find who originally said it but it was the catalyst for the poem above.

Keep searching for your heart’s desire mes amis, for life is too short to lose the chance to find it.

Meilleurs Voeux.

  1. An awesome riff off the quote. The beginning with all the questions, and although there were no response to them, the wise ending sentiments true no matter what the answer to the questions may be.
