How to Participate

If you would like to participate in the weekly Household Haiku Challenge then please write your haiku on your own blog as a post (we love to see your own photos too!), add your contribution as a link to your post in the comment section here and put “TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge” on your tag list on your own post so others can find you! Just click on the speech bubble at the end of this post to access comments.

You can use any aspect of the prompt. “Eggs or Egg Separator” could be the object itself, its appearance what your use it for…or something inspired by it as in the example I have written. Anywhere that the concept leads you! It is all about having fun.

If you would like more information about the challenge then you can view the instructions page HERE

Also don’t hesitate to make suggestions for future household objects in the comments section! I need ideas!!!!

You can check out any of the past posts by visiting the Household Haiku Home Page HERE

If you participate but do not see your name in the lists just let me know and I will be sure to add you.

Bon Weekend everyone and Happy Haikuing!

Thanks to Darklight Harbor for the suggestion this week – “Egg Separator” I do not have an egg separator so have gone for egg this week but if you can use “Egg Separator” I would be delighted to see your compositions.

  1. Oooh, marvelous haiku, TJ–and a lovely prompt 🙂 I’m so surprised you don’t have an egg separator–I must still have in mind that you’re a celeb chef…they’re quite handy for some recipes!

    1. I manipulate eggs shells with great dexterity to divide the yolk from the white. Thanks again for the prompt idea and for liking the egg haiku. Hope your weekend is going swimmingly.

      1. Well, see there? You’re so adept, you have no need for an egg separator…I don’t suppose you have any sure-fire advice for peeling hard boiled eggs?? I LOVE egg salad sandwiches–but I dare say I was swearing a bit yesterday, as I tried everything I’ve read, yet still lost much of my “whites” in the peeling process….arrgghh!

        1. Boil them from cold and when done plunge them into cold water just after boiling and change the water a few times to let them get quite cold. Then roll it gently on the bench top to crack all the shell into small sections and then start peeling. Unfortunately it is then still likely to adhere but, you never know. I think some eggs are just “stickers”.
