French Friday – Centre of Culture

Metro Deco (Large)
The Metro Entrance near the ancient Roman Arena the Arene de Lutece in Paris is one of the only Art Deco entrances in the city.

Cee of Cee’s Photography has a challenge this week to feature photographs with a centralised image so I have had fun trawling through my photos to find some that fit the bill.

Eiffel Tower from Trocadero
Early morning from the Trocadero. Ok, it is something everyone knows but when the sky is perfect blue and not many people are about then it is rather special.

One of the many things I love about France is the unexpected decorative elements that you find and the wonderful range of eras that are accessible in just one place.

Les Invalides (Large)
Napoleon looks out at into the courtyard of les Invalides in Paris. His tomb is just inside.

The Sainte Chapelle is a gem of medieval architecture overlaid with mid 19th Century romanticism. This was a roundel design taken with the sun streaming through the stained glass.
