“Ohayoo gozaimasu” to you if you are reading this in the morning or “Konnichiwa” if the clock has hit 11am or so.
Whatever the time where you are it’s Haiku time here in Perth Western Australia. Today’s prompt is “Iron” and you can do with it what you will. What do you iron? What is your opinion of ironing? What do you think about while ironing? Can you use Irony? If you hate the prompt then why not just share a haiku of your own this week?
I am intending to broaden this challenge in the coming weeks to beyond “household” items so stay tuned…
Last week’s prompt “Potpourri” produced a rich mix of contributions.
Judy Martin has an eclectic mix in her bowl this week.

Two great haiku from Ritu who kindly suggested the prompt this week.

A great big welcome to Freya who has joined in for the first time with a beautiful image and two masterful haiku. How well she describes how scent and memory seem to go together.
TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge – Potpourri
Tucked into a corner has unleashed a heady mix of aromas this week. Always wonderful.

And Kat Myrman has a wonderful image of her own creation as a header to this excellent haiku.

What a masterly haiku. I never expected a prosaic iron to possess such potential emotion. Thanks so much for sharing! TJ

Just loved all three. You have a great sense of the form and I really liked how each had a different take.
