TJ’s Household Haiku – Symmetry

Prompt word: Symmetry

Nature balances

Dark, light, morning to night time

Sun drowns in the sea

Welcome to TJ’s Household haiku challenge. This week the prompt is “Symmetry” and the picture is of Vaux le Vicomte, a beautiful chateau not too far from Paris which we visited one Autumn day. The Chateau, photographed across the lake in the beautiful grounds. The whole is a perfect exercise in symmetry.

If you would like to join then use anything in either the photo or the prompt that speaks to you. As the example shows, you don’t have to use the word in the haiku, just go with any inspiration you get.

Share your haiku by putting a link in the comments (click the black speech bubble at the end of the post) and tag your haiku posts “TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge” so that I and others can find them.

Cambodian Markets
Ancient umbrellas grow like mushrooms in the crowded markets in the Cambodian capital.

The prompt for last week “Mushroom” produces some very interesting haiku.

Shadeau has produced one of her magical cascading haiku

Freya has a pair of inspired haiku

Kat Myrman has given us food for thought with these 3 takes on the prompt

Judy Martin has taken the prompt in a clever direction this week.

Ritu has interpreted the photo with this elegant haiku

Ramblings of a Writer has gone with the photo interpretation this week.

My Choice 360 has blossomed forth with 5 haiku this week! Lovely stuff!

Image and Word has a wonderfully brilliant image as a background to a charming poem this week.

Life Home and Away has conjured the forest folk in this lovely haiku.

Apologies to Somali for missing the great haiku from last week “Tide”. The joys of wordpress auto decisions making regarding what is spam and what is not.

    1. So glad you liked the photo. I just fell in love with this place and was so lucky hardly anyone else was there when I was taking my photos.
