Dear ….,

Being in need of some recuperation following the horrifying driving conditions along the traffic-free Cotswold laneways, we determined to spare poor Pamela a day of abuse and take in the wonders of Oxford.

I am sure there was something wrong with my socks (it could not have been the new Doc Martins!) for, despite the boots being worn in before the trip, both my feet developed the most atrocious blisters. This at least assisted us in making a plan of sight seeing and, having dined royally (as usual) we set out for our first famous Oxford landmark – Boots Chemist.

After purchasing an vast assortment of bandages we moved on to even more fascinating sights.
