I am a gentle whisper in the wind
Drowned out by raucous laughter
A twinkle in a happy eye
Dulled by care and misery
I am the star that shines
Lost in the drifting storm clouds
I am the eternal joy
Lost in the ticking clocks
I once was and will ever be
But how many souls have turned away?
I was the summer, I was gladness
Lost in a winter snowdrift
Stop and listen
I still call
amidst the loud cacophony
And if you hear me in the darkness
You will hear…
Love
Quite fabulous!

I so enjoyed the back-and-forth rhythm of this poem. And the ending. You pulled it all together so well with that ending.

Oh Wow, oh Wow–hard to choose a favorite bit, but I’m rather partial to “eternal joy lost in ticking clocks”.

Thank you so much. It is easy to lose track of love in this noisy, busy world. 🙂
