Nursery Rhyme Rift Challenge

Exmouth Western Australia

I discovered this fun challenge through a wonderful blogging friend and thought I would give it a go. Basically you give an old nursery rhyme a “makeover” and there are plenty to choose from.

I am going with “Suzy Sells Sea Shells by the Sea Shore” visit the link below to check out the challenge and maybe give it a go yourself!

Suzy sold sea shells by the sea shore,

She soon drew the attention of an environmentalist lobby group who, after determining that the shells Suzy sold were an essential part of an ecosystem sustaining a rare type of hermit crab, reported Suzy to the government and she was subsequently fined $10, 000 for environmental damage.

She don’t sell ’em no more.

or

Suzy got sozzled sitting on the see-saw

The see-saw Suzy sat on made her seat sore

So sozzled Suzy sought a second see-saw

But in her sozzled state she sat her sore seat….

On a cactus.

one last one…

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water,

Jill came down, with half a crown,

And left Jack lying on the grass with an idiotic grin of contentment on his face.

  1. Welcome TJ — I hope you had as much fun writing these as I did reading them. Sozzled Suzy is destined to be the new tongue twister. And, that sly Jill — all this time I never knew. And poor Suzy, no more seashells!
These were all delicious rifts on nursery rhymes. You played the game well. Thanks so much.
