Walking home from the bus stop yesterday and this native tree was just bursting into flower.
What lies beyond life?
Forbidden to our eyes.
And yet in constant speculation,
We cry out in the darkness.
Our sad voices calling like the night bird,
Melancholy in the starlit silence,
Unanswered.
So our existence,
fragile…fleeting,
Dissolves like a drop of indigo tossed in a midnight sea.
And all those left will soon forget
Whatever became of me.

A sad and thoughtful poem. I like the drop of indigo tossed in a midnight sea. It has shades of The Highwayman. No higher compliment 🙂
