Life is too short to drink bad wine
La vie est trop courte pour boire du mauvais vin
I gave my heart away today
For finding no-one wanted it
Without a moment of delay
I threw it in the ring

That shrivelled useless bit
And without sorrow or dismay
I tossed that shattered thing

Surprised that someone took it
I watched them take my heart away
And heard their own heart sing
I gave my heart away today
And in so giving, mended it
And now I find perhaps I may…
Get a heart in return.
