This butterfly perched upon the seaweed of a tidal pool. The strange contrast of the butterfly, the seaweed and coral shards was oddly satisfying. Exmouth Western Australia
A strange dalliance
A butterfly pines for love
Grieving on seaweed
…O…

Afar, the moon grieves
Caught in hopeless attraction
Endlessly pining
…O…

Rainy Winter’s Day
I so pine for the sunshine
The clouds show their grief
It’s Monday again! How? Why? 3 offerings for the wonderful Ronovan of Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge.

The photo is just beautiful, unusual …the word ‘fetching’ comes to mind.
As is the accompanying Haiku.
Have an excellent week.

Such different Haiku, but each one wonderful in its own way. I love the photos you have chosen to go with these as well, especially the sunrise.

Thanks so much! ☺ blushes. I was so happy to take that photo of the sunrise and have it come out clearly with just a point and press camera.

Oh Wow! What a trio! The first one makes me laugh – not sure why – butterflies and seaweed – !!! ????
And that photo with the second haiku is absolutely stunningly beautiful – can’t stop looking at it – it is going into my list of favourites.

Thanks so very much! ☺ The butterfly on the seaweed was definitely odd. The second photo is also one of my favorite shots. I took it on a tiny island off the north west coast of Australia. Absolutely silent and serene in the cool morning air.

I’m so glad you had your camera with you to capture that first photo. That is so unusual and makes for a beautiful photo to provide fodder for your haiku. I too pine for the sunshine if we have endless days of gloominess.

A beautiful use of the words in a triplet of Haiku. Each awakening feelings of sadness for the grief felt for the tangible and intangible. Love your interpretations. jk
