Hidden away in the tiny Square Rapp is a little courtyard where the apartments are a wonder of Art Nouveau and the iron grille is alive with the sinuous whiplash forms of writhing plants. It is well worth a visit just to see the grille if you are a devotee of Art Nouveau. The interesting lattice trompe-l’œil is just another unexpected feature.
The best part however is to go into the courtyard, through the grille and then turn around. (See the next post for a surprising and spectacular view)
Thanks to the Doctor who kindly showed me this hidden gem. Do go and see it for yourself if you are in Paris.
