Here are a collection of photos I have taken over the last couple of years that for me conjure up the idea of solitude in response to Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge.
Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 20 – Solitude
Alone with my thoughts
I ponder life’s great mysteries
Where did I put my mobile?
So wonderfully picturesque! Beautiful Cancale emerges surprisingly on the Brittanny coast
On a rocky outcrop in the ocean this wonderful sea eagle sits atop its amazing nest of driftwood.
On a crisp morning in spring we turned back and say this wonderful view which I snapped with joy.
This little sailing craft travels towards the setting sun.
The boatman waits patiently for the return journey
I gazed through the window of the Louvre as the sun set.
Le Penseur (The Thinker in the garden of the Musee Rodin, Paris. How can his internal organs function effectively all crushed up like that?
They call Australia “The Lucky Country”. It is moments like this that make be believe it.
Strolling back to the Louvre through the Tuilleries
Two fishermen write their own story in the water.
This little family sat unawares of the perils before them
These native Western Australian wildflowers are called “Everlastings” because their paper like petals can stay pretty even when they are dried.
Lone figures and their shadows as the sun goes down
This statue atop the Musée d’Orsay gazes across the sea of Parisian males whose beards give daily hope to the hirsuite.
Some little swallows perched on the rafters in Cambodia. Do not be fooled by their cuteness!
A plane flies above the Gothic spires of the British House of Parliament
“Freo” as West Aussies foldly refer to Fremantle has the most beautiful beaches. A late finish to work today and I was luckily driving home when I saw this sunset, the fisherman and the cargo ships on the horizon. Thank you camera phone!
The sun just rising on the horizon, the moon and a single star hovering above the makeshift tent we built on the desert island.
Dusk, and this perfect sunset and glassy sea turned this little boathouse and bridge into a wonderful rhapsody in blue!
A yacht on the horizon and a last swim before sunset.
This lone figure strolls along the beach in Fremantle, Western Australia at dusk just as I was photographing the sunset.
his little chap obliging sat for a photo on a recent trip to the local swamp.

My favorite? Is the one of the little bird in the rafters…. It truly seems to be all alone in a cold world. ❤

I took that photo in Cambodia where many people struggle with poverty so it seemed to have added meaning to me.

Wow, so many terrific photos for the challenge, TJ. One of them also has one of those strange green orbs in it. I’ve been reading about them recently.
Thank you for joining me for the challenge, and I hope you found your mobile phone 😀

Haha! Thanks Hugh. Phone located and now you have me intrigued by the green orb. Off to freak out myself. 🙂

Oh, they’re a real mystery. I captured one back in September last year shortly after my mother had passed away. There are mixed views about what they are but some fabulous reading out there. The clear ones that sometimes include the face of a person who has passed away are the ones to really look out for.
Sleep tight 😀

You have me intrigued now. I took a photo years ago of the interior of Marie Antoinette’s private theatre at Versailles and I thought it was spoiled because of all of the balls of light that came up in the shot. I have probably been sitting on a fortune! Off to try and find it and see if Madame de Pompadour is floating about. 🙂

Thanks for the link. Very interesting stuff. As Hamlet said “There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy Horatio.” The world is an amazing place still full of mysteries. 🙂

I never knew that there was so much about these “orbs”. There are hundreds and hundreds of sites devoted to them it seems. Spoooooooooky! 🙂

I shared one of my orb photos with Hugh awhile back, so that’s why I showed some interest in yours. It’s one of those curiosities in our mysterious world.

TJ, I never cease to be amazed at the quality of your photos, you must have got an eye for getting the perfect shot. These are so stunning my apart from the beach ones (nothing beats those), that one of the boathouse is my favourite, with the colours of the sky reflected in the glassy sea.

That is one of my favorites. My brother took me to this place (Lorne, Victoria) just as the sun was setting. So beautiful.
