TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge

Notre Dame Fleurs
Cascading blossoms reveal a glimpse of the cathedral on a cloudy day in spring.

The stone-cold winter

I watch through the dark windows

Suddenly….Springtime!

Welcome to TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge!

The prompt words this week are “Spring” and “cold”. You can use these in a haiku or take any inspiration you like from the photo which you are also welcome to use in your own post if you like.

Just add a link to your haiku post in the comment (press the black speech bubble at the end to access). Autumn is well on its way here in Western Australia but for “Those that live across the sea”, spring seems to be the thing!

Thanks so much for those that dropped by last week to respond to the prompts “moment” and “Ancient” HERE

Two on a Rant kicked off with this clever haiku about the ancient instincts of domestic animals. It made me think for sure!

The Recovering Know it All has again come up with a wonderful haiku and a very moving reflection stemming from the prompts. The connection with the past is so strong.

Three wonderful takes on the prompts from Ritu of But I Smile Anyway. The fleeting present and the ancient past all combined here.

A long time ago

Tucked into a Corner has produced a fantastic trio this week. Really nailed the haiku genre with the last lines giving an unexpected twist.

      1. Amazing. Well, it’s not really spring here in AZ, but I’ll try to put together some haiku that encapsulate the change between seasons. Thx again for the prompt. Glad to see you back brother

          1. I have just bought a small blending machine that is supposed to make nutritious fruit and vegetable juices. I discovered it makes the most delicious margarita slushys. Much better use of the machine I say!

          2. Hahaha 🙂 I had a blender –well, more than one…should have kept the old one as it was made when appliances were expected to last from one generation to the next. But I gave it away, bought a new one–and the first time I made a milkshake in it, I realized that it was flimsier, less secure than the old model…milkshake all over the kitchen, and frown on the face 🙂 Gave that one away too, with no warning… and have never purchased another. Maybe it’s time… 🙂

          3. I agree with you about the flimsiness. We still have a fan from the 1950s that goes like steam while all the new ones threaten to burst into flames after one season.
