Passing Fair
A trembling rose.
At it’s very apogee,
A petal falling.
A smile disingenuous,
A broken springtime promise,
About a golden summer,
A cherry blossom snowdrift.
And in the lush green grasses,
A dandelion’s last wish,
And beauty dies with merely,
A whisper of the wind.
Wow! this is deep and profound. That last verse, choked me up to the point of tears…

Thank you so much for this. It is a very Japanese concept that at the very moment of something’s perfection it passes away. It is achingly sad by sometime true.
